Variations of Kentax evaporators

The Kentax evaporator can be delivered in different variants. The common thing is the cooling (water or N2f), the assembly on a CF38 flange and the rotary shutter (except the cooling on the 4-cell and base flange on the 9-cell evaporator).

common version

The "standard" evaporator is the suitable design for most applications.
An inner gold-plated mirror surface and quartz glass heating inserts built with low wall thickness ensure low power requirements.

The heating wire is operated well below an electron emission temperature.
This means very long heater life and high overload immunity.
Nevertheless, operation in air destroys the heating elements immediately.
The figure shows the latest delivery status.

top down application

The "standard" evaporator head can be additionally equipped with three small retaining springs.
Together with aperture crucibles, a top down application is possible (but not 90°).
The picture shows the evaporator with aperture crucibles.

The springs can also be retrofitted in the evaporator.

Please note that working with aperture crucibles is more difficult because of the filling and cleaning of the crucibles.

The illustration does not show the latest delivery status.

min. lateral offset

The 3-cell evaporator with minimized lateral offset is often used for preparation together with a low-temperature STM.
Top-down application and tilting of the heating elements for a focal point is also possible.

four cell

The 4-cell evaporator is supplied without cooling.
For this reason, the evaporation time is limited (typically to 30min).

Because the individual heating elements are not connected via the gold-plated copper,
this evaporator has a particularly small cross talking.

max. volume

The 3-cell evaporator with maximum crucible volume 0.5 cm3 has a slightly higher power consumption
than the evaporators with 0.1 cm3 crucibles.

The setup is particularly tricky and delivery with heating elements set at an angle (focus point) is not possible.

Together with aperture crucibles, a top down application is possible (but not 90°).
The picture shows the evaporator with springs but with open crucibles.

max. cells

The 9-cell evaporator is based on a CF64 flange and is equipped with the same heating elements as the other evaporators.
A rotary shutter is not shown here. Optional cooling is offered (water or N2f).

The heater elements are tilted 10°.The resulting focus point is 130 mm above the heater elements. Total length on request.

The evaporator opens the possibility to leave the evaporator in vacuum for a very long time,
so that a lock mechanism for changing the substances should not be needed anymore.

simplest one

The 1 cell evaporator (PC) is also designed with a quartz heating element similar to the other evaporators.
However, the crucible volume here is up to 5.6 cm3.

This simply constructed evaporator has passive cooling via solid oxygen-free copper.

Due to our workload with the production of the other evaporators, we have hardly offered this version so far.

selectable temperature gradient

The 1-cell evaporator (SCG) is also equipped with a quartz heating element like the PC variant.
The crucible volume is also up to 5.6 cm3.

This evaporator has integrated liquid cooling and a (tilt) shutter.

The special feature of this evaporator is a selectable temperature gradient in the crucible.

Due to our workload with the production of the other evaporators, we have hardly offered this version.
